Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.
Loan Asset Management Intern
Over the course of my internship at Peakhill, I’ve gained valuable skills and discovered how to engage in professional environments and contribute to them. I developed a stronger sense of communication, adaptability and teamwork while working alongside others on Annual reviews, emailing with borrowers and screening reports. This hands-on involvement improved my analytical skills and deepened my understanding of real estate financial performance. My biggest takeaway was learning the importance of company culture. The team’s positive attitude and eagerness to share knowledge made my internship both enjoyable and rewarding. Thank you to the team at Peakhill for making my experience so memorable!
CMHC Intern
Interning with the CMHC team at Peakhill Capital has been a rewarding experience. Over the course of the summer, I had the opportunity to work on live deals, assist in underwriting, and gain hands-on exposure to the CMHC-insured lending process. These responsibilities gave me a strong foundation in real estate finance and helped me develop technical skills that I’ll carry forward in my career.
The fast-paced nature of the work also helped me improve my efficiency, helped me better understand what the client is looking for as well as manage tight deadlines—especially during the recent CMHC premium changes. These experiences taught me how to adapt quickly and remain focused under pressure.
One of the highlights of my internship was helping to plan and run Peakhill Camp. While running the event, I was able to see how close it brought the team together outside of the office and reinforced Peakhill’s collaborative and welcoming culture. From my first day, I felt supported by my team, who were always generous with their time, knowledge, and showed interest in my progression.
This internship has solidified my interest in real estate finance and taught me the value of working in an environment where people support one another. For students considering a role at Peakhill, I’d encourage them to take initiative and ask questions The internship is very much what you make of it, so it’s important to be proactive and explore different types of work within the company. This is especially true as a student, trying a range of tasks can help you better understand which aspects of real estate you enjoy most and may want to pursue in the future.
Canadian Equity Intern
Over the past few months, I had the privilege of working with Peakhill’s Canadian Equity team, where I was actively involved in analyzing real estate transactions across key markets including Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, and Vancouver. This role allowed me to sharpen my analytical abilities and gain hands-on expertise in financial modeling, underwriting, and market research, which helped me build a strong foundation in real estate investment analysis. I learned to evaluate deal structures, identify and assess potential risks, and distill complex market data into clear, actionable insights.
My time with the Equity team also gave me invaluable exposure to collaborative problem-solving and the fast-paced decision-making environment that defines the real estate investment industry. I was encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and contribute meaningfully to team discussions, which deepened my technical knowledge and gave me a front-row seat to the strategic thinking that drives investment decisions. I truly valued being part of a team that balanced high performance with a strong commitment to learning and development.
One of my favourite moments from the summer was helping organize a company-wide colour war with the other interns. It was a day filled with friendly competition, creativity, and energy that brought employees from all departments together. It perfectly captured Peakhill’s culture: collaborative, innovative, and community-focused.
This internship not only strengthened my technical skills in real estate finance but also gave me a clearer understanding of the strategic, operational, and interpersonal dynamics that drive success in the industry. I am ending my summer at Peakhill with greater confidence, a broader skill set, and an even deeper passion for the work I hope to pursue.
Investor Relations Intern
Returning to Peakhill Capital for my second internship, I’ve been fortunate to deepen my understanding of real estate underwriting and investment analysis. One of the most valuable lessons has been recognizing that the strength of a financial model lies in truly understanding the inputs, their meaning, source, and impact on the overall deal. This experience has sharpened my ability to assess assumptions, evaluate risk, and support smart acquisition decisions. This experience has also taught me to think critically about how each assumption shapes the investment case. Working through real deals has given me a deeper appreciation for the balance between quantitative analysis and strategic judgment in making high quality investment decisions.
Loan Asset Management Intern
Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to work within the loan asset management team, gaining exposure to a high volume of deal flow through annual reviews. This experience has deepened my understanding of how investors leverage CMHC financing and how multifamily properties are underwritten to generate long-term returns.
What stood out, though, was the culture. The team at Peakhill is incredibly welcoming, collaborative, and generous with their time. I was able to explore different parts of the business and connect the dots between capital, strategy, and long-term returns.
CMHC Intern
Peakhill Capital has deepened my understanding of real estate finance, giving me hands-on experience in multifamily underwriting, CMHC-insured lending, and debt structuring. The entrepreneurial and collaborative environment has accelerated my learning and allowed me to take ownership early on.
Origination Analyst Intern
As an Origination Analyst intern at Peakhill, I had the opportunity to work closely with Roberto Dabate and Daniele Antoniazzi, who played a key role in sharpening my underwriting skills and deepening my understanding of real estate debt structuring. Being immersed in such a fast-paced and high-energy environment enabled me to develop quickly and gain valuable exposure to the full investment process.
CMHC Intern
During my summer internship at Peakhill Capital, I worked alongside the CMHC and Marketing teams, gaining hands-on experience in real estate finance. A memorable highlight was the opportunity to work directly with President & CEO, Harley Gold, to bring Peakhill Camp Day to life. Planning and executing such a large-scale event taught me how to turn an idea into reality, and how powerful it is to unite a team that spans across North America. Over the course of my internship, I expanded my network, strengthened my communication and technical skills, explored corporate event planning, and confidently balanced multiple responsibilities.
What sets Peakhill apart is its people-first culture, where strong internal connections are built and interns are treated as part of the team. To any students considering an internship: take the leap—it will push you out of your comfort zone and teach you more than any classroom ever could.
Thank you to everyone at Peakhill Capital for an unforgettable first internship experience, the meaningful connections, and a great summer!
Origination Analyst Intern
This summer at Peakhill Capital has been an intense and rewarding bootcamp into the fast-paced world of commercial real estate. From day one, I was entrusted with meaningful responsibilities that helped sharpen my time-management skills and deepen my understanding of the industry. I am grateful for the trust, guidance, and support from my colleagues and managers in the Montreal office.
Origination Analyst Intern
At Peakhill, I’ve focused on sourcing new apartment developments for the affordable housing team. It’s given me valuable insight into how projects are identified and evaluated, and how financing plays a role in expanding access to housing. Beyond the work itself, the collaborative and driven culture in the office has made it a great environment to learn and grow.
