My name is Cory Capland, and I am the President and Managing Partner of Peakhill Opportunity REIT (“P-REIT”). In my role, I lead all deal origination, underwriting, fund management, and capital raising functions for P-REIT.
P-REIT was a natural extension of Peakhill Capital’s platform, shaped by my prior experience working closely with the firm as a lender. That relationship gave me first-hand insight into Peakhill’s capabilities, entrepreneurial culture, and disciplined approach to underwriting. P-REIT was built to harness those strengths—leveraging our origination pipeline, institutional relationships, and operational infrastructure to create a best-in-class apartment investment product. Our goal is to build P-REIT into a multi-billion-dollar investment vehicle with a strong track record of results for our investors.

Peak Performance
My proudest achievement at Peakhill has been working alongside our talented legal, marketing, and capital raising teams to successfully launch P-REIT. Bringing a new investment product to market required tight coordination, strategic planning, and a shared vision across departments. Seeing P-REIT gain traction and build awareness among investors, brokers, and other market participants has been incredibly rewarding as it reflects the strength of our team and the value of the platform we’ve built together.

What is one book/podcast/TED talk that has made an impact on you?
One particular episode of The Glue Guys podcast featuring Coach K left a lasting impression on me. Titled “Coach K: Get On The Right Bus”, it explored the leadership principles of Coach Mike Krzyzewski, whose approach redefined excellence, resilience, and teamwork. The episode shaped how I am able to contribute to a team environment—through trust, accountability, mentorship, and showing up as a consistent teammate.

P-REIT was purpose-built to capitalize on compelling apartment investments by leveraging Peakhill’s deep origination pipeline, institutional relationships, and operational infrastructure. The strategy delivers a hybrid return profile—combining the stable cash flow of our debt funds with the capital appreciation and tax efficiency of equity investments seen in our Peakhill Equity Partners group.
