Harley is a founding director and the Chairman of the Board of Lighthouse Credit Union, a new credit union formed in 2022, focused on servicing the Jewish community.

My name is Harley Gold, and I am the Founder & CEO of Peakhill Capital. At Peakhill, I lead our credit team with a focus on loan origination and portfolio management of our Credit Fund. My goal has always been the same: build a best-in-class platform, surround ourselves with exceptional talent, and deliver results that our clients can count on. Over the course of my 25-year career, I’ve had the privilege of closing in excess of $25B in loans across more than 5,000 transactions throughout Canada and the United States, spanning CMBS programs, agency platforms, and high-yield funds.

What is one book/podcast/TED talk that has made an impact on you?
Simon Sinek’s Trust vs. Performance is something every leader should experience. The idea that trust is a greater driver of performance than talent alone is both humbling and energizing. It was a reminder that the strongest teams are not always the most talented ones on paper; they are the ones who believe in each other and in the culture around them. As a leader, that reinforced what I’ve always believed. When you invest in your people and give them real autonomy, performance follows naturally.
From the POV of the Founder & CEO, how has Peakhill evolved since its inception in 2019?
Although we are now a 7-year-old company, we approach each day like a startup, constantly thinking of new ideas to better serve our customers and support our team. With this shared mindset, we saw continued growth for Peakhill with expansions into several new business lines, such as project advisory, U.S. capital markets, and public fixed income. Our business lines are driven by entrepreneurial talent who join Peakhill because of our culture and success. This progress reflects not only the strength of our platform, but the calibre of entrepreneurial talent we continue to attract.
