My name is Kelly Schwartz, and I am the Vice President of Finance at Peakhill Capital. I lead an incredible team of talented individuals, and our department is responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, reporting and tax functions for all businesses in the Peakhill group.

Every day is different at Peakhill. With our pace of growth, there is never a dull moment! Our Finance team is highly collaborative, and I enjoy being part of the team, providing support as we meet our many deadlines and work toward our shared goals.

“I lead by example, and it’s important for me to be part of the team on the ground every day. There are a lot of moving parts in this business, and I believe in active collaboration to show that teamwork is the best approach as we help each other with the important work we do.”

Peak Performance

I am most proud of the fantastic people I have hired onto the Finance team and the solid structure and controls we have worked hard to implement. It has been rewarding to contribute to and witness the immense growth of the Finance team at Peakhill, and we continue to actively seek great talent. Our team is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and everyone’s expertise aligns well with the various business and operational needs of the firm. We have dedicated specialties across Fund Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and Operations. Above all, my team has a strong passion for learning, and we embrace that every single day.

Peakhill in 3 Words

What is one book/podcast/TED talk that has made an impact on you?

I have started reading the book “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”, written by Dale Carnegie. I recently completed the Dale Carnegie Course, which was generously offered by Peakhill to support the personal and professional growth of its employees. It was a great opportunity to really get to know my colleagues, learn new skills for building relationships, and participate in activities that help build confidence. As I take away lessons from the course and book, I look forward to learning more tools to use at work and at home every day.

What experiences or lessons from your career have had the greatest impact on how you lead today in your current role?

A few years ago, I completed a values assessment that helped me identify the principles that have shaped who I am as a person, employee, and leader. My core values are reliability, consistency, and fun. I also consider these to be my strengths, and I make a conscious effort to lean into them in my daily life. In Finance and Accounting, being reliable and a trustworthy teammate is essential, and these values strongly influence how I lead my team.
