My name is Sandor Biderman, and I am the Managing Partner & Co-Founder, Peakhill Capital U.S. I am responsible for leading our Peakhill U.S. business, which includes our first mortgage, bridge, preferred equity, and separate accounts.
We are really just in our infancy, so the opportunities are numerous. We want to build a strong origination platform and asset management business that manages investments on behalf of our fund investors, pension funds, and life insurance companies, creating a formidable brand across the U.S.
“I try my best to empower our team to make decisions, and to the extent they don’t have the skill set to do that, I work closely with them so that they can build the skills and gain the confidence to expand their roles and responsibilities.”
Peak Performance
My proudest achievement at Peakhill was closing our first deal, a preferred equity investment behind Freddie Mac. Securing Agency approval is no small feat, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the determination and diligence of our team. This milestone reflects the momentum we’ve built and the success I believe will continue as our team grows and new opportunities emerge.

What is one book/podcast/TED talk that has made an impact on you?
I’ve taken a real interest in podcasts, and listen to them frequently to keep my perspectives fresh. “The TreppWire Podcast” is my go-to for market updates, and “The Walker Webcast” offers engaging conversations that help me stay connected to prominent voices in the industry. When I want something broader, I turn to the “All-In Podcast” for its mix of economics, tech, and investing. I also enjoy “Call Me Back with Dan Senor”. Altogether, this mix of content keeps me curious, informed, and inspired.
How does Peakhill Capital U.S. maintain its competitive edge in American markets, and what strategies are in place to stay ahead of the curve?
Our strategy focuses on deploying capital into opportunities in the $5–$20M range, deals that are typically overlooked by larger credit funds. In an exceptionally competitive market, this segment remains underserved, creating a unique opening for us to differentiate ourselves. By concentrating on these nimble, high-impact transactions, we’re able to drive meaningful portfolio growth and position ourselves for outsized returns. This targeted approach positions us to consistently capture overlooked opportunities and build a resilient portfolio that can thrive across market cycles.
